Marzuki Dreamt Of Becoming a TV Broadcaster

Olivia Marzuki
She had dreams of being a pop star, but then focused on becoming a broadcaster.  The result?  A position on Metro TV’s English-language morning program as a weather personality.
Olivia Marzuki is right where she wants to be.
“I never thought it would actually happen, but if you work hard enough and seek opportunities, dreams can come true,” said the Jakarta native.
Marzuki was raised in Indonesia, but sought higher education in New Zealand.  She graduated from International Pacific College with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies.
Her first job was in marketing at a local bank.  After a short time at the Sampoerna Foundation, she joined the Queensland (Australia) Government as a senior trade officer, where she’ll continue while handling the “Indonesia This Morning” weather duties.
She speaks Bahasa Indonesia, English, Japanese and Mandarin.  And she still has pop star fantasies, but only in karaoke clubs.
“And I love culinary experiences,” says Marzuki.  “I like to go around and try new restaurants and eat and eat and eat.”
