China aims to create around 12 million urban jobs in 2023 and targets a surveyed urban unemployment rate of around 5.5 percent, according to a government work report submitted Sunday to the national legislature for deliberation.
At a press conference on Monday, deputy head of the national development and reform commission said, the target fully reflects China's determination to further stabilize employment this year.
Li said four measures will be taken to boost employment of young people, especially college graduates.
China will also promote the high-end and green development of manufacturing, promote deeper integration of modern service industries with advanced manufacturing and modern agriculture and create more knowledge-based and technology oriented jobs.
