FIFA Removes Indonesia as U-20 World Cup Host

Chairman of Indonesia's Football Association Erick Thohir has returned to Jakarta and on friday has met president Joko Widodo to report the result of his meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Doha, Qatar. He also  handed over a letter from FIFA President to President Wododo.

Indonesia according to Erick is still waiting for FIFA's decision regarding sanctions for Indonesia after the football oranization cancelled Indonesia as the host country of FIFA U-20 world cup this year.

Erick said the reason behind the cancelation was security and safety as well as government intervention regarding Israeli national team's presence in the world cup event.

Bali and Central Java Governors earlier stated their rejection for Israeli national teamd to play in their provinces. Bali and Central Java provinces are two among six provinces that have signed a commitment to host the U-20 world cup this coming May but this month they refused the presence of Israeli's national team.

President Widodo according to Erick asked him to meet with FIFA officials again to ensure Indonesia will not be excluded from future international football environment.
