Indonesian pair, Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti defeated Lee Chia-Hsin and Teng Chun-Hsun to advance to the round of 16 at Malaysia Open 2023.
Apriyani and Siti Fadia who rank world number 9, win 21-16, 21-15 in the women's doubles. Their next opponents will be South Korean pair, Na Eun Jeong and Hye Jeong Kim on Thursday for a spot in quarter-finals.
In men's singles, Thailand's number 8 seed, Kunlavut Vitidsarn came from a game down to beat Shesar Hiren Rhustavito of Indonesia, 21-23, 21-19, 24-22 to reach the round of 16.
But unseeded, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo moved to the last 16 after winning Denmark Veteran, Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus in three games, 21-11, 16-21, 25-23 after an hour and five minutes battle on the court. The Indonesian player will face Prannoy Haseena Sunil of India in the next round.
