Wildfire Breaks Out in Central Thailand, No Casualties

A forest fire broke out Wednesday night in Nakhon Nayok Province, one hundred fourteen kilometers northeast of Bangkok.

According to a government spokesperson, Anucha Burapachaisri the fire started on a high part of the Khao Chaplu Mountain which have made it impossible for forest firefighters to access and the fire had also spread to the adjacent Khao Laem Mountain.

Separate forest fires have also been raging in the country's north. In the suburban region of Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai around eighteen thousand liters of water have been doused from the air in effort to extinguish a forest fire there.

Chiang Rai Province had also requested a helicopter which arrived Thursday to assist in efforts to extinguish forest fires there.
