People in India celebrated the Festival of Holi The Hindu Festival of Colors which marks the arrival of spring.
After two years of subdued festivities due to covid-19, the Holi celebrations brought the revelers back on the streets, smearing each other’s faces with bright powdered color, distributing sweets, and squirting water at fellow festival-goers.
Holi traditions vary across India. In most parts the holiday is celebrated on Wednesday, turning the streets and lanes into playgrounds with people of all faiths joining the festivities, they also include water balloons and squirt guns.
The festival is also celebrated in Nepal and other countries with large Indian subcontinent diaspora populations.
