Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail Project Temporarily Stopped

Two were killed and five others wounded after a worker train that's used during the construction of the first Indonesian high-speed railway connecting Jakarta and Bandung derailed on Sunday afternoon.

The railway itself has been tested for about one month and according to the authorities, the railway where the accident took place is only used temporarily during the construction project ongoing, but not the railway that is going to be operated for the high-speed train.

The first Indonesia's high-speed railway project is handled by Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC).

Two foreign workers died in the accident and five survivors are now being treated at hospital. As of Monday afternoon evacuation process to lift the train from the scene is underway and authorities have been investigating the cause of the incident.
