Indonesian Ministry of Health Orders 20 Million Doses of Inavac Vaccine

The Indonesian health ministry has ordered 20 million doses of the Indonesian homegrown covid-19 vaccine, Inavac.

Indonesia's first homegrown vaccine 'Inavac', was developed by state-run airlangga university and biotic pharmaceuticals Indonesia, a joint venture company of China's pharma international and state-own company Harbin Weike.

2 months after it received emergency use authorization from BPOM, Indonesia's drug and food control agency, inavac will be used as a booster vaccine, and will be distributed for public use in all provinces across Indonesia this year. Last year the health ministry also bought five million doses of Inavac.

So far, Inavac could only be used for adults aged 18 years and above. but currently, producers of inavac are conducting studies. to ensure that vaccines can be used for children and teens.
