A number of demonstrators were detained in Moscow on Wednesday during a rally against the military operation in Ukraine.
Protest rallies took place in several Russian Cities after President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilisation. It is the first such call-up in russia since world war two.
The order came after Russian-controlled regions in Ukraine announced plans for referendums on becoming integral parts of Russia.
The referendums will start friday in the Luhansk, Kherson and partly Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk Regions.
