Indonesia's antigraft agency, KPK on Wednesday officially detains Papua Governor Lukas Enembe for his suspected involvement on bribery and gratification case.
Lukas was arrested in Jayapura, Papua on Tuesday by a team from the corruption eradication commission and was taken directly to Jakarta for interrogation.
He was declared by the agency as a graft suspect on January 5 for allegedly receiving bribes and gifts from private companies to win some infrastructure development projects in one of Indonesia's richest provinces.
Lukas is estimated had received bribe totaling Rp1 billion from a private company's director. Due to his health condition, Governor Lukas is now detained at a hospital in Jakarta for further medical observation and treatments.
