Two-time defending champion Max Verstappen bettered his own leading mark and set the fastest time in the second session on the first day of Formula One pre-season testing in Bahrain.
Verstappen clocked a time of one minute 32 points 9-5-9 seconds in the first session but improved it to one minute 32 points 8-3-7 seconds for Red Bull during a combined 157 laps of Bahrain International Circuit.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso finished the day with just zero points 0-2-9-of-a-second off Verstappen's pace. While the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were third and fourth fastest respectively.
