Indonesia-Timor Leste Sign Four Memoranda of Understanding to Strengthen Economic Cooperations

Indonesian President, Joko Widodo welcomes newly elected Timor Leste's President Jose Ramos-Horta at the Bogor Presidential Palace. Both leaders agree to improve economic cooperations. 

Indonesia is first Ramos Horta's foreign visit after sworn in as new Timor Leste President last month. Both leader signed four memoranda of understanding overseeing agriculture, cross border transportation including sea and land routes to connect Kupang and Dili, and also a sea route connecting Kupang-Dili to Darwin in Australia.

The MoU also specifically concern on standardization, meteorology as well as some technical cooperation in trade sector.

Jose Ramos-Jorta has some scheduled in Indonesia, including a meeting with former Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono later on.
