Today, Indonesia's Capital City of Jakarta celebrates its 495th anniversary. Jakarta's Governor Anies Baswedan led Jakarta's 495th Anniversary Ceremony held inside the National Monument or Monas compound in Central Jakarta. The invited guests represent various elements of the society living in the capital city.
The theme "Collaboration Acceleration and Elevation" embodied the spirit of accelerating the development of Jakarta and making Jakarta a global city in the world.
In accordance to the anniversary, authorities provide free rides for public transportation in Jakarta area today. All travel costs will be borne by the regional government through a subsidy mechanism. Some entertainment sites and amusement parks also provide free entrance fees today.
