                        Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Tuesday departed from Jakarta for Brussels to attend the Asean-European Union summit. This year's summit will mark 45 years of ASEAN and E.U. relations.
President Jokowi Widodo will focus on how to strengthen the relationship between ASEAN and E.U., especially in trade relations.
According to President Joko Widodo, in 2021, trade between ASEAN and E.U. reached almost USD269 billion, or the third trade partner of ASEAN after China and the United States.
While EU direct foreign investments to ASEAN member countries in total last year reached USD26 billion, the second largest investment partner for ASEAN after China.
President and entourage are expected to stay in Brussels for less than 24 hours before returning to Indonesia.
