Bank Indonesia is planning to issue a digital currency of the rupiah as the design process will begin in July this year after a document was previously published in January.
according to the governor of bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo, Indonesia's G20 Presidency last year facilitated the creation of global initiatives related to digital currencies.
This initiative allows input recommendations for the model and concept of digital currencies, that can be implemented and launched in G20 countries.
In July, this year the design process will begin for the digital rupiah in Indonesia.
