Typhoon muifa headed North and away from Ishigaki Island in Okinawa, Japan, but heavy rain fall warnings with strong winds were still set in place on Tuesday. Fallen trees and branches are seen on the island on Tuesday, and trafflic lights there were without power.
The typhoon is moving at a speed of 10 kilometres per hour with waves expected to reach heights of around 9 metres. Muifa was expected to hit China in the coming days.
