European Union energy ministers met in prague this week to discuss the European Commission’s legislative proposals, regarding joint purchases of gas or possible price capping. The delegates are also discussing their joint continued response to the bloc’s energy crisis.
Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson said to prepare for the expected rise in demand for the winter the European Union has been filling its storage 15% more than last year. He also said action is needed to tackle the ‘High and Volatile’ prices across Europe due to the war in Ukraine.
