President Widodo's Bilateral Talks

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has held some bilateral meetings with world leaders a day before the annual G20 summit will kick off on Tuesday (15/11/2022) morning at Nusa Dua, Bali. President Joko Widodo met with his US counterpart President Joe Biden in the Indonesian island of Bali.

During the meeting, the two leaders were expected to announce a range of new development initiatives for Indonesia including investments in the environment, security, and education. President Joko Widodo met President Joe Biden in Pnom Penh on the previous days during the ASEAN summit.

Separately, President Joko Widodo also holds a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida today. After G20 Summit this year, Indonesia will chair ASEAN in 2023 and Japan will chair G7 on the same year. In accordance to strategic positions between the two nations, President Joko Widodo hopes Indonesia and Japan can strengthen ties and play a role in sustaining regional positions.
