COP26 Deforestation Pact

During the COP 26 climate change summit, as many as 114 countries signed a joint declaration to reduce deforestation by 2030. Even though Indonesia also signed the declaration, the country's Minister of Forestry, Siti Nurbaya Bakar, had previously said that the deal did not regard the context of each country. However, the Minister later clarified that she was alluding to the balance needed, to continue developments but also reduce deforestation.
