Jokowi Opens Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Tollway

President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Pekanbaru to Bangkinang tollway as part of Indonesia's continuing infrastructure developments, Wednesday (4/1/2023). This infrastructure added even more highways to Sumatra Island.

The Pekanbaru to Bangkinang tollway which was inaugurated by President Widodo measures 30.9 kilometers in length and will further connect the city of Pekanbaru with The Kampar Regency. President Widodo said that the tollway will cut travel time from Pekanbaru to the City of Bangkinang in the Kampar Regency. From the previous one and a half hours to just 23 minutes.

This will help increase the efficiency of the distribution of goods, especially locally made goods in The Kampar Regency. Hence helping boost the local economy while also creating new centers of economic activity and thus creating new jobs for the local community.
