In Uganda, motorcycle taxis, known locally as boda bodas, provide a quick and cheap way to get around. But the drivers can be notoriously reckless, contributing to road accidents and injuries. A local software developer and a former boda-boda driver joined forces, hoping to transform the market with their “Safe Boda” app. From Kampala, Halima Athumani reports for VOA on what is being called Uganda’s “Uber” for motorcycle taxis.
