A 6,1 magnitude earthquake striking remote regions in eastern Afghanistan early Wednesday killed at least 920 people and wounded 600 others. The quake struck about 44 kilometers from the south-eastern city of Khost in the early hours of Wednesday when people were at home asleep in their beds.
