Indonesia Mulls Subsidized Fuel Price Hike

Indonesian government is currently reviewing the possibility of raising subsidized fuel prices as government spending on subsidizing fuel is posing a heavy burden on Indonesia's state budget.

The plan to possibly review the price of subsidized fuel was confirmed by Indonesia's Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, despite this Ma'ruf stated that the government has yet to fully decide whether or not to raise subsidized fuel prices.

However subsidizing fuel prices is posing a heavy burden on Indonesia's state budget this year, the government will be spending 502 trillion rupiah on fuel subsidies.
