Hollywood actor and united nations humanitarian Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to one of the worst flood-hit areas in Southern Pakistan on tuesday. As the death toll from months long deluges rose to over one thousand five hundred fifty nine.
Video from the Pakistani Government shows Jolie meeting with officials in Islamabad and discussing the need for the international community do more. According to local media, later she visited some of the flood-affected areas.
Meanwhile a prominent international aid group international red cross, says Jolie is visiting Pakistan to support communities affected by the devastating floods.
The visit comes as Pakistan's prime minister Shahbaz Sharif is in New York for the seventy seventh session of the UN general assembly to highlight the damages caused by climate change induced floods in the impoverished country.
Pakistan says the floods have caused thirty billion US dollar in damage to the country's economy.
