Mount Anak Krakatau, which lies in Sunda Strait erupted this Thursday, (15/12/2022) morning. It spews a 100-meter column of ashes to the sky and sea surrounding it.
The volcanology monitoring post in South Lampung reported that white and grey columns9 of ashes were heading to the North East. It also recorded at least 5 seismic activities following this morning's eruption.
It has staged a level 3 warning which means people or tourists and mountain climbers are not allowed to reach 5 kilometers from the top of the mountain crater.
In recent past weeks, some volcanoes in Indonesia erupted. Mountain Anak Krakatau follows Mountain Semeru in East Java and Mountain Kerinci in Sumatera Island which erupted earlier.
