Indonesia's Food Reserves

Indonesian state owned enterprises ID Food plans to take control of 11 government food reserve commodities this year. The Indonesian government will allocate a budget for the procurement of the food reserve stock amounting to around IDR26 trillion rupiah.

In a joint hearing with Commission Six of the Indonesian House of Representatives, President Director of the ID Food Holding Company Frans Maranda Tambunan said that the procurement of government food reserve stocks requires a budget of around IDR26 trillion.

Tambunan said that ID Food will oversee eight commodities including shallots, garlic, curly red chili, red cayenne pepper, meat, eggs, and consumption sugar with a total budget allocation of IDR12 point 17 trillion.

While Indonesia's logistics bureau will oversee three commodities including rice, corn, and soybeans with a total budget of IDR14 point 7 trillion.
