Indonesia's 76th Independence Day Anniversary

Traditional attires worn by officials colored the 76th independence day celebration held at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. President Joko Widodo wore the traditional attire from Lampung, while First Lady Iriana Widodo wore a traditional songket wrap with a national blouse at the top. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and his spouse wore traditional attire from the sunda tribe in the Sukabumi region of West Java. The celebration of independence day under President Joko Widodo's administration has become an event where people can wear various traditional attire from all over Indonesia. Indonesia has more than 1,300 tribes and about 700 active local languanges.
