Jakarta: Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, addressed concerns that children in orphanages are not receiving the benefits of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

Sudaryono emphasised that children from orphanages receive MBG at their respective schools, in accordance with applicable regulations and mechanisms.

"They are provided with MBG at their schools. There are established mechanisms and regulations for this, so we ask for the public's continued support," said Sudaryono in a written statement reported by Antara on Monday, October 12, 2026.

He assured that children living in orphanages receive healthy, nutritious meals at their educational institutions. MBG distribution for toddlers is also carried out through Posyandu (Integrated Health Community).

"For toddlers, distribution is also handled through MBG channels ,specifically Posyandu, which serves as one of the program's distribution outlets," Sudaryono stated.

Sudaryono highlighted the importance of understanding the MBG distribution mechanism to ensure the program is implemented in accordance with regulations. Distribution channels via schools and Posyandu are aspects the public needs to understand when considering the program's beneficiary coverage.

The MBG program is one of the government's efforts to support public nutrition, particularly for children. Therefore, understanding beneficiary criteria, distribution channels, and implementation regulations is crucial to prevent misunderstandings arising from information circulating in the community.

The BGN is committed to strengthening public outreach on MBG distribution mechanisms, including for children in orphanages and toddlers, to ensure the public understands that program access is managed in accordance with applicable regulations.
