Jakarta: The second Airbus A400M/MRTT Alpha 4001 aircraft is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia in February 2026.
This unit complements the first Airbus aircraft handed over by President Prabowo Subianto to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the arrival of the second aircraft will strengthen the TNI's strategic capabilities in air mobilization and humanitarian missions.
"The presence of this Airbus A400M/MRTT aircraft will be an important addition to strengthening the capabilities of the Indonesian National Armed Forces," he said, as quoted from the Cabinet Secretary's Instagram account, Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
The second aircraft is part of an order placed by Prabowo in 2021, while still serving as Minister of Defense.
Both aircraft have multi-role capabilities, enabling them to be used for air-to-air refueling, logistics transport, and medical evacuation and disaster relief missions.
With the arrival of the second aircraft, Indonesia is projected to have a more robust air capacity for both defense and humanitarian operations in the region.
