Soetta and Halim Perdanakusuma Airports are Closed again for Mitigation Measures: AirNav

Jakarta: AirNav Indonesia has extended the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) on Monday, September 7, 2026, until 18:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time).

This action serves as a mitigation measure against the impact of the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

"The adjustment to the closure period is a mitigation step to support flight safety, taking into account the dispersion of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau," said AirNav Indonesia Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hermana Soegijantoro in a written statement on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Based on updated Notices to Airmen (NOTAM), Soekarno-Hatta Airport was closed under NOTAM A3373/26 (revising A3368/26) starting at 08:28 WIB. Meanwhile, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport was closed under NOTAM A3372/26 (revising A3369/26) starting at 08:16 WIB.

AirNav Indonesia is ensuring strict, ongoing monitoring of airspace dynamics and volcanic ash movement. Up-to-date aeronautical information will be released periodically in accordance with actual conditions on the ground.

Furthermore, intensive coordination is being maintained with all aviation stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of information and the safety of national air navigation.
