Lombok: West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is stepping up preparations for potential drought as the peak of the dry season approaches.

The National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB) held a coordination meeting in Mataram on Friday, July 24, 2026, to discuss disaster management efforts.

The meeting was led by BNPB Head Lieutenant General Suharyanto, with representatives from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and the Governor of NTB in attendance.

The discussion encompassed high-risk areas, mitigation measures, and disaster risk assessments.

“From a disaster management perspective, NTB has demonstrated remarkable initiative. The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara has already incorporated disaster risk considerations, specifically on spatial planning, into the Regional Medium-Term Development Plans (RPJMD),” Suharyanto said.
