Jakarta: Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced that the management of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area assets will be handed over to the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara), in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's directive.
This directive was delivered privately during the Danantara Town Hall event.
"Regarding the GBK asset transfer to Danantara, yes, that’s the President’s direction," Prasetyo told reporters on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
He emphasized that the technical preparations for the transfer are still underway. Since the GBK is currently managed as a Public Service Agency under the Ministry of State Secretariat, the process differs from typical transfers involving State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
As of now, no assets have been formally transferred, Prasetyo added, noting ongoing coordination with relevant parties including the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Finance, and Danantara.
"Please be patient. As of today, no assets have been moved because we're still finalizing the technical process with all stakeholders," he said.
Earlier, Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani revealed that the agency is projected to manage up to US$1 trillion in assets. He noted that SOEs currently contribute about US$982 billion, and GBK’s inclusion will further boost this figure.
“It’s a gradual process. Although the common estimate for SOE assets is around US$900 billion, the actual value exceeds US$982 billion,” Rosan said during a press briefing after the Danantara Town Hall on Monday, April 28, 2025.
He also mentioned that the GBK Main Stadium assets, previously valued at US$25 billion eight years ago, will be strategically managed by Danantara to generate productive returns and maximize investment outcomes.
