Jakarta: Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded economic growth of 5.47 percent year-on-year (yoy) in the third quarter of 2026.

The number is higher than the 5.04 percent growth in the same period last year.

"Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2026, compared to the third quarter of 2025, or on an annual basis, was 5.47 percent," said BPS Deputy for Balance and Statistical Analysis, Edy Mahmud in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Edy explained that the growth was measured based on gross domestic product (GDP), which reached Rp3,633.2 trillion at constant prices and Rp6,741.0 trillion at current prices.

Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2026 was also higher than in the previous quarter, when the economy grew 5.29 percent.

Stable growth trend

BPS said the 5.47 percent growth shows a stable growth trend above 5 percent, an important psychological target for long-term economic recovery.

The increase in GDP at current prices to Rp6,741.0 trillion also points to higher production and consumption across various business sectors.

This growth beat the predictions of several academics, including Rudi Purwono, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Airlangga University (UNAIR).

He has predicted that Indonesia's economy would grow 5.3 percent year-on-year (yoy) in the third quarter of 2026. His projection was based on several economic indicators from July to September 2026.
