Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, marking his first major global economic engagement since taking office.
According to the WEF’s official agenda, Prabowo’s special address will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. local time (CET), alongside WEF President and Chief Executive Officer Børge Brende.
“At Davos, the president will deliver a keynote speech at the World Economic Forum, which is expected to be attended by 61 heads of state and government and more than 1,000 participants,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said on Sunday, as quoted from Antara, Monday, 19 January 2026.
Prabowo is also expected to hold a series of strategic dialogues with chief executives from leading global companies, Teddy added.
Founded in 1971, the World Economic Forum is an annual gathering in Davos that brings together political leaders, business executives, economists, academics and policymakers to discuss global economic challenges and emerging risks. The forum is organized by a non-governmental organization and think tank based in Cologny, near Geneva.
Other leaders scheduled to deliver special addresses at this year’s meeting include French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
They will be joined by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Argentine President Javier Milei and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, underscoring Davos’ role as a key platform for global economic coordination and high-level diplomacy.
Ahead of the Davos forum, Prabowo is making a stop in London, where he arrived after departing Jakarta from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Sunday.
Teddy, who is accompanying the president, said Prabowo is scheduled to hold several high-level meetings in the British capital.
“In London, President Prabowo will meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss cooperation in a number of strategic areas, including economic and maritime sectors,” Teddy said.
Prabowo is also set to meet King Charles III, with talks expected to cover environmental protection, nature conservation and elephant conservation, alongside discussions with global philanthropic figures.
Prabowo’s departure for London was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, senior cabinet ministers, the armed forces chief, the national police chief and the chief executive of flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.
