BNPB Delivers 27,000 Liters of Clean Water Amid Banyumas Drought

Banyumas: The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has distributed at least 27,000 liters of clean water to address drought conditions in Banyumas, Central Java.
 
The BNPB’s Directorate of Operations Control reported that 4,000 liters of water sourced from Perumda Pabuwaran had been distributed to Grumbul Tembelang in Sudimara Village.
 
Another 8,000 liters were distributed to the Hidayatul Kholil and An Najah Islamic boarding schools in Rancamaya Village.
 
BPBD teams also distributed 5,000 liters each to Langgongsari Village, Cipete Village, and Jingkang Village.
 
Head of the BNPB’s Center for Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Abdul Muhari said the aid was delivered using five trucks operated by the Banyumas Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) through Saturday, August 1, 2026.
 
“The BPBD worked with village officials and volunteers to help distribute the clean water to the affected residents,” he added, as reported by Antara.
 
The drought follows weeks of sparse rainfall, which has caused several local water sources to dry up.
 
Abdul urged local authorities to continue monitoring water conditions, optimize distribution points, and encourage residents to conserve water during the dry season.
