Jakarta: The 10th MER-C Emergency Medical Team (EMT) is preparing thousands of winter aid packages to be distributed to the people of Gaza, Palestine.
In a MER-C press release on Sunday, November 23, 2025, volunteers Dr. Nico Ghanda, dermatologist Dr. Anthon Vermana Ritonga, and nurse Nadia Rosi, along with local MER-C volunteers, are coordinating and preparing.
"God willing, we will distribute aid to our brothers and sisters in Gaza because winter is now starting," said Anthon, as quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, Nico asked for prayers and support from all Indonesians so that all efforts, including the distribution of humanitarian aid, run smoothly.
"MER-C, as one of the humanitarian organizations that has the opportunity to enter the Gaza Strip, is trying to do its bit to help our brothers and sisters in Gaza who are in need," said Nico.
The MER-C aid package consisted of 500 children's jackets, 500 adult jackets, 500 blankets, and 100 tents.
The aid was distributed in response to the increasingly dire conditions in Gaza amidst the winter. Heavy rains in Gaza have caused several refugee camps to flood and caused tents to collapse.
The situation is further complicated by the Israeli blockade, which has restricted the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
MER-C is a humanitarian social organization specializing in medical emergencies and aims to provide medical services to victims of war, conflict-related violence, riots, extraordinary events, and natural disasters, both domestically and internationally.
