Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto visited the PT. Tinindo Internusa smelter in Bukitintan, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung, on Monday, October 6, 2025. The company is one of six assets seized in a tin embezzlement case.

The company's assets were seized and confiscated by the Attorney General's Office, then handed over to the Ministry of Finance, and then given to the Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) Investment Management Agency (BPI) to be managed by PT Timah.

"This is illegal mining in the PT Timah area. Those involved have been punished, and the authorities and the Attorney General's Office have also confiscated six smelters. We can see piles of rare earth metals and tin ingots at those locations. The value of the six smelters and the confiscated items is approaching IDR 6-7 trillion," Prabowo said at the location on Monday, October 6, 2025.

He explained that the Attorney General's Office seized approximately 40,000 tons of monazite, which has caused the state approximately IDR 300 trillion in losses.

"We can imagine the state's losses from these six companies alone; the total potential loss is IDR 300 trillion. State losses are already running at IDR 300 trillion. We are stopping this," Prabowo continued.

The Head of State commended law enforcement officials for their successful enforcement and safeguarding of state assets. Prabowo said that this will potentially earn Indonesia hundreds of trillions in revenue in the future.

"We are determined to eradicate smuggling, eradicate illegal mining, and eradicate all those who violate the law. We will uphold this, regardless of who we are. I ask that the Attorney General, the TNI Commander, Customs and Excise, and the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) continue. We are saving the nation's wealth for our people," Prabowo said.

According to data from the Attorney General's Office, assets that have been given to the government and are now managed by PT Timah include six smelters; 108 pieces of heavy equipment; 195 units of mining equipment; 680,687.60 kg of tin metal; 22 plots of land with a total area of ??238,848 square meters; and one dormitory building. The total assets are valued at IDR 1.45 trillion.

Meanwhile, the potential state revenue if the six smelters were fully operational is IDR 4,608 trillion per year.

In handling the tin case, the Attorney General's Office has successfully convicted 22 individuals from five corporations. The total state loss is around Rp300 trillion, consisting of Rp2.28 trillion in equipment rental markups, Rp26.65 trillion in illegal tin ore purchases, and Rp271.07 trillion in environmental damage.
