Jakarta: President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto performed Umrah pilgrimage on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2025. The minor Hajj pilgrimage was performed on the sidelines of a series of state visits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Based on photos distributed by the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo is seen wearing an ihram cloth. Prabowo is seen in the front row and accompanied by several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.
The presidential aides who accompanied Prabowo were Coordinating Minister for Food Zukifli Hasan (Zulhas), Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Sugiono, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Roeslani, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Hajj Management Agency (BPH) M. Irfan Yusuf.
A number of members of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) accompanied him. Prabowo's entourage also received tight security from local law enforcement officers.
Upon arriving at the courtyard of the Grand Mosque, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Indonesian pilgrims who were performing their prayers. The Head of State performed a hand gesture as a form of greeting and respect to the pilgrims who enthusiastically welcomed his presence.
The President then entered the Kaaba and performed the sunnah prayer inside, a rare opportunity that reflects the close relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
After leaving the Kaaba, the President performed the sunnah of kissing the Black Stone which was continued by performing tawaf around the Kaaba. After performing tawaf, the President again greeted the Indonesian pilgrims who were around the Grand Mosque.
President Prabowo's Umrah worship continued by performing Sa'i from Mount Shafa to Marwah. Then it ended with tahalul as a sign of the completion of the series of Umrah worship.
