Destry Damayanti Nominated as the Sole Candidate for Governor of Bank of Indonesia

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto has submitted the name of future governor of Bank Indonesia to the House of Representative. Interim Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti was a name that was nominated.

“It is a sole (candidate). (only) one name, Ms. Detry Damayanti” said the minister of state secretary Prasetyo Hadi, in Jakarta, August 10,  2026.

In the submitted letter, the president also listed names of other officials, which was candidate for Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia.

Destry is an interim who replaces Perry Warjiyo as the Governor of Bank of Indonesia. Perry stepped down as Governor of Bank of Indonesia on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Destry met the president in the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, 27 July 2026. That meeting was held to coordinate after Destry replaced Perry Warjiyo as Governor of the Bank of Indonesia.

At that opportunity, Desty ensured that Bank of Indonesia continues to carry out its duties amid leadership transition. She emphasized that maintaining the stability of the financial system and rupiah exchange rate remain the priority.

“Bank of Indonesia continues to maintain financial stability, and the exchange rate remains a priority for us as well,” said Destry.
