Jakarta: Arrmanatha C. Nasir has officially assumed the role of Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs following a handover ceremony with Sugiono at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The handover ceremony was marked by the signing of the official handover minutes, followed by an exchange of handover memoranda between Arrmanatha, known as Tata, and Sugiono.

Tata had previously been inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto during the Cabinet reshuffle on October 1, 2026.

Meanwhile, Sugiono now serves as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Menko PMK).

Following his inauguration, Tata stated that he would continue the work initiated by Sugiono while prioritizing national interests and the President's Asta Cita agenda.

"My task here is to continue what Sugiono has been doing. Naturally, we will continue to prioritize matters of national interest, particularly the President's Asta Cita," Tata said at the Presidential Palace on October 1, 2026.

Tata also outlined the global dynamics that present significant challenges for Indonesia.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining the consistency of Indonesia's foreign policy and contributing to the preservation of stability and peace, both regionally and globally.
