                        Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the newly revitalized Tanah Abang Station in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, marking a new chapter in the modernization of Indonesia’s railway infrastructure.
“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, November 4, 2025, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, inaugurate the New Tanah Abang Station,” the President declared during the ceremony.
The inauguration was symbolically marked by pressing a button alongside several key officials, including Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Affairs Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, and PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin.
In his remarks, Prabowo commended the station’s transformation and emphasized the importance of continuous maintenance and safety improvements across the nation’s railway system.
“Security, safety, and the construction of crossing gates must be prioritized to prevent accidents,” he stated.
Prior to the inauguration, the President rode the Commuter Line Electric Train (KRL) from Manggarai Station to the new Tanah Abang Station. He also inspected the train units manufactured by CRRC Qingdao Sifang, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and public transport reliability.
