Jakarta: The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has dismissed 137 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) heads over food poisoning incidents and other disciplinary violations.

The move comes as part of a broader overhaul led by newly appointed BGN Head Sudaryono to strengthen governance and oversight of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

“Moving forward, we will have zero tolerance for food poisoning, zero tolerance for corruption, and zero tolerance for any violations,” Sudaryono said.

The disciplinary action affected 49 SPPG heads in West Java, 26 in Lampung, 11 in East Java, 10 in North Sumatra, 10 in Banten, and five in Central Java.

Among those removed was the kitchen head responsible for the recent food poisoning incident at SMK Negeri 6 Semarang, which led to hundreds of students being hospitalized.

The BGN also terminated several SPPG heads over phishing incidents that resulted in the loss of operational funds.

“Some heads withdrew funds and later claimed they had fallen victim to scams. We have dismissed them and suspended their SPPG operations,” Sudaryono said.
