                        Kuala Lumpur: Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono delivered Indonesia's national statement on behalf of President Prabowo Subianto at the 28th ASEAN–China Summit.
Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized the resilience and strength of ASEAN–China relations, which have been tested in the face of various global challenges, from the financial crisis to the pandemic.
"Our partnership continues to strengthen," he noted, noting that China has been ASEAN's largest trading partner for six consecutive years, as quoted from Kemlu.go.id, Wednesday, 29 October 2025.
Foreign Minister Sugiono welcomed the signing of the ASEAN–China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) 3.0 Upgrade Protocol, which he said is crucial for expanding cooperation in the digital and green economy, supply chain resilience, and empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that economic relations remain sustainable and beneficial for all parties, while reassuring the importance of peace and stability in the maritime region.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Sugiono expressed Indonesia's appreciation for China's support for the rights of the Palestinian people, as well as for the collective efforts to end the humanitarian crisis and promote a two-state solution.
"Indonesia remains committed to building a closer, peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable ASEAN-China partnership," he concluded.
