Jakarta: The Garuda Merah Putih II Task Force has continued its humanitarian mission to deliver logistical aid to residents of Gaza, Palestine. What exactly is inside the aid packages sent by the Indonesian government?
Each package contains essential food supplies needed by Gaza residents. The items were carefully selected to match what is commonly consumed by the local population.
The boxes include rice, sugar, canned food, pasta, cooking oil, beans, tomato paste, and several packs of instant noodles. The aid was sent by the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Defense and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Each box weighs around 20 kilograms. The packages were tightly and safely packed so they could be distributed using an airdrop system.
Previously, Indonesia deployed the Garuda Merah Putih II Task Force on a humanitarian mission to Gaza, Palestine. The logistical aid to be distributed totals 800 tons, including food, blankets, and medicines.
“This task force was a direct order from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, carried out through an airdrop operation,” said Defense Ministry Secretary General Lt. Gen. Tri Budi Utomo, as quoted from Prioritas Indonesia on Metro TV, Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
The deployment was officially launched by TNI Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base. A total of 66 personnel from the TNI, government ministries and agencies, Baznas, and national media departed for Jordan on two Super Hercules aircraft.
Agus underlined that this mission carries strategic significance as it coincides with the commemoration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day. He also reminded the 66 Garuda Merah Putih personnel to work professionally and ensure the humanitarian aid reaches its intended recipients.
The mission will last for 12 days, targeting 10 drop points across Gaza.
