Jakarta: Australian Deputy Ambassador Gita Kamath and Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti officially opened the Indonesia–Australia Prosperity Exhibition 2025 today in Jakarta.
The event brought together key government officials, industry leaders, and development partners to celebrate the expanding economic collaboration between the two countries.
Since the Indonesia–Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) came into effect, bilateral trade has significantly increased—doubling to reach AUD 35.4 billion in 2024.
“This exhibition is a strong reflection of the potential we can unlock together. Through the Katalis program, we’re going beyond trade—we're developing skills, generating employment, and shaping a more inclusive and resilient regional economy,” said Deputy Ambassador Kamath, quoted from Australia Embassy statement, Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
One of the exhibition’s main attractions was the Katalis Program Showcase, which marked five years of collaboration under IA-CEPA. The showcase featured success stories across sectors such as health and aged care, vocational education, digital innovation, and agriculture.
Vice Minister Dyah Roro Esti highlighted several milestones achieved by Katalis, including boosting fruit exports to Australia, supporting pilot exports of Indonesian premium cocoa, and fostering women’s entrepreneurship. She emphasized the program’s role in strengthening commercial ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Noteworthy partnerships were also presented, such as the collaboration between the University of New England and Binawan University to offer Australian-certified aged care training in Jakarta, with support from Living Well Seniors Communities. In addition, digital identity firm Privy shared its successful entry into the Australian market, enabled by Katalis.
The Katalis Showcase reinforced the program’s significance as a driver of inclusive economic development and a forward-looking bilateral relationship grounded in mutual goals and strategic alignment.
