Perry Warjiyo Resigns as Bank Indonesia Governor

Jakarta: Perry Warjiyo resigned as Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
 
“President Prabowo Subianto accepted Perry Warjiyo’s resignation and expressed his gratitude for his seven years of service,” State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
 
“A Presidential Decree will soon be issued to honorably discharge him from the position, in accordance with established procedures,” he added.
 
Under BI Law, Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti will automatically assume the role of acting governor until a permanent successor is appointed.
