Atlanta: Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir emphasized the important of peace and stabilty to support global economic growth.

It was stated during first pleno session at G20 Foreign Minister Meeting (FMM) in Atlanta, United State, on Friday, October 30, 2026

Arrmanatha, commonly known as Tata, said that conflicts at several chokepoints, such as the Strait of Hormuz, the Black Sea, and the Red Sea, have disrupted global trade. These conflicts threaten the world's energy and food security.

"There will be no economic growth without peace and stability," Foreign Minister Tata wrote in an Instagram caption.

During the meeting, he called for stronger dialogue, de-escalation, and respect for international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Foreign Minister Tata said the G20 needs to play a role in preventing maritime conflicts from turning into a global crisis.

He also stressed that for Indonesia, the sea is not a divider but a bridge connecting nations. Therefore, keeping sea routes safe also means protecting global food security. (Yaumil Tianri Rahmi)
