Jakarta: Australia and Indonesia have on Monday formally commenced the new Australia Indonesia Partnership for Health Transformation (“KITA SEHAT”), announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and President Prabowo Subianto during the 2025 Indonesia-Australia Annual Leaders’ Meeting in Jakarta.

During her visit to Indonesia, Australian Minister for International Development, Small Business and Multicultural Affairs the Hon Dr Anne Aly MP, together with Indonesian Minister for National Development Planning, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy M.S., witnessed the signing of the partnership arrangement by Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Roderick Brazier, and the Secretary of Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning, Teni Widuriyanti.

KITA SEHAT will strengthen Indonesia’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to human and animal infectious diseases and emergencies. It will also focus on building resilient health systems that can deliver equitable and inclusive primary healthcare services.

“Australia and Indonesia have a long history of working together to address the health challenges of our shared region. This partnership continues through the “KITA SEHAT” initiative, which will promote the well-being and resilience of families and communities across Indonesia,” Minister Aly said, according to the press release from Australian Embassy

Minister Pambudy said, “KITA SEHAT reflects our commitment to deliver transformation to the Indonesian health systems, especially primary care. We value Australia's long-standing partnership in advancing our policy priorities in the health sector.”

KITA SEHAT will invest AUD 100 million over eight years to promote evidence-based health policies, accessible quality healthcare services, and responsive management of health security threats.
