President Prabowo: No Rational Nation Desires War

Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto stressed that no rational country seeks war, as it only leads to devastation and suffering.

"A nation's safety must be ensured through its own defense. No sane country desires war. War is a destructive force and leads only to ruin," Prabowo stated while opening the Indo Defense Expo & Forum at JIEXPO Kemayoran, North Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Despite this, the President highlighted the critical need to invest in national defense as a means of protecting sovereignty and ensuring long-term peace.

"A country that refuses to invest in its own security often loses its strength, its freedom, and ultimately, its identity—becoming a subjugated nation," he warned.

He also reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong commitment to peace, while making it clear that the nation values its independence above all.

"This is a lesson from history. From the beginning, the Indonesian people have said they cherish peace—but they value independence even more," he concluded.
