Malang: East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa assured that supplies of “Biosolar” fuel in the Malang area remain secure amid concerns over potential shortages.
To prevent supply disruptions, the provincial government has intensified monitoring efforts in collaboration with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and PT PLN (Persero) to maintain regional energy stability.
“The East Java Provincial Government is in close communication with PLN and Pertamina. East Java has experienced blackouts in several locations, so we are taking precautionary steps to prevent future incidents,” Khofifah said in Malang on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
“We are coordinating (with suppliers) to identify the root causes of long queues (at fuel stations). According to Pertamina, Biosolar supplies have been increased to meet demand. Hopefully, we will not face further disruptions and operations will continue to run smoothly,” Khofifah explained.
The former Social Affairs Minister emphasized the importance of energy stability, noting the heavy reliance of industrial, trade, and inter-regional logistics sectors on consistent fuel supplies.
“It has a profound economic impact on us, affecting transportation mobility. Inter-regional connectivity and our economic performance are largely determined by the stability of fuel supplies,” Khofifah remarked.
